Turning a brand's illustrated mascot into a three-dimensional form introduces new decisions. Side and rear views, posture and scale in the space need development beyond the familiar front view.

The process is more than adding thickness to a drawing. Consider the character's recognisable qualities together with its intended use. Confirm the design and possible physical production scope at the first discussion.

Which qualities must be retained? Brand guidance on proportions, colours and expression provides a starting point. Share current versions of the character's different uses.

Drawings may differ in proportion. The brand should clarify which view takes priority for the dimensional design. Avoid basing decisions solely on one low-resolution image.

How are side and rear views developed? Details absent from a flat drawing become visible in a dimensional work. Profile, back, limbs and relationships between components may all need attention.

Establish who approves these interpretations. Changes that affect expression form part of the brand identity; do not leave them as details to be improvised during production.

Where will the mascot be used? A fixed entrance display, a piece moved between events and an object viewed from one angle create different needs. Explain how people may approach or touch it.

Children's settings and participatory uses require separate technical assessment. A friendly appearance does not establish that an object can be climbed on or is suitable for every use.

How are character and logo rights clarified? Confirm who owns the mascot and how the design may be used. A character found online should not be reproduced as if it belongs to your brand.

Discuss delivery of three-dimensional design files and possible future use at other scales. Design rights and delivery of the physical object are different matters.

What should the enquiry include? Approved character files, multiple views, photographs of the intended setting, approximate scale and target timing are useful. Explain which aspects of design, modelling, production, transport and installation you want assessed.

Share your mascot idea or approved files on WhatsApp. Graffiti Ankara can clarify the assessable scope; a particular material or mass-production method is not automatically included.
