Large walls in a factory or warehouse site offer different scales for artwork. Design in an industrial setting, however, cannot be separated from daily operations and site conditions.
A visitor entrance, social area and perimeter wall serve different purposes. At the first conversation, identify the exact surface and explain how the area is used.
What will the artwork communicate? Original forms inspired by production, the organisation's visual identity or a particular story can provide a starting point. Not every detail needs to fit onto one surface.
Obtain the relevant approval before using technical diagrams, internal information or brand elements. Consider whether visitors may see or photograph the work.
How is a large composition read? Approach direction and viewing distance affect the scale of its principal elements. A composition experienced while moving along a perimeter wall differs from artwork on a single elevation.
Show doors, equipment, pipes and existing signs in the proposed area. Required signs must remain visible. A mural does not replace operational wayfinding.
Why discuss access before a quotation? Entry procedures, working hours and access restrictions may affect the application plan. Work at height or other technical requirements need assessment with the responsible teams.

How should surface and surrounding conditions be shared? Send approximate dimensions and photographs of existing coatings and visible problems. Mention any known moisture, contamination or other influences.

Who approves the project? Brand representatives, facility management and site teams may hold different responsibilities. Establish who approves the design and who authorises application at the beginning. Sharing current plans and photographs from the same version helps coordination.
